iPad to the Rescue?

Will the iPad save journalism? I don’t know. It might. Depends if
people are willing to pay subscriptions for something they already get
for free now online. Ads alone don’t generate enough revenue for websites of
newspapers. The website nytimes.com might have a big enough readership and prestige to start charging readers on a metered basis next January. But what about the website of your local paper? I have my doubts.
